World Bank's Annual Update on Private Participation in Infrastructure

This report gives an overview of the global trend of private participation in infrastructure projects from 1984 until 2016. For example, it notes a sharp decline in investment with private participation in infrastructure projects in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs): a 37 per cent decline compared to 2015 and a 41 per cent decline over 2011 to 2015 (World Bank, 2017).

The PPI Database of the World Bank provides detail on more than 8,700 infrastructure projects with private sector participation.
